Fun Dives at Castaway Divers
Koh Lipe is surrounded by over 30 islands and hundreds of reefs all within easy reach of our dive centre. Tarutao National Park is one of Asia's oldest marine parks — the reefs and the islands surrounding Koh Lipe are in excellent condition.
Nowhere else on the southeast Asian peninsula will you find so many excellent dive sites so easily reached. The highlight of the diving here is the soft coral and macro life, with several sites featuring granite pinnacles covered in colourful soft corals.
Every year we see numerous sharks, whale sharks and manta rays. For the best chance, try 8 Mile Rock, Stonehenge, or Koh Pung. With Castaway Divers, you will dive in small groups of no more than 4 divers of similar experience and certification levels.

About the Currents
The currents here are predominantly tidal, which means certain times of the month we experience strong currents and at other times none at all. We can always find somewhere good to dive, but the widest selection of dive sites is available twice a month, following the half moon.
During slack tides — typically around the half moon — currents are minimal and nearly all 30+ dive sites are accessible. This is the best time for deeper sites like 8 Mile Rock and the Yong Hua Wreck. Around the full and new moon, stronger currents limit the choice of sites, but sheltered reefs closer to Koh Lipe remain excellent and often bring in bigger marine life.
Our dive guides know these waters intimately and plan each day based on current conditions, tides, and weather. We always choose the best available sites for your experience level — so you get the most out of every dive regardless of the tidal cycle.
